Transportation

Welcome to the Transportation Department of Murfreesboro City Schools. We hope you will find this web site to be a valuable source of information regarding student transportation. The Transportation Department begins and ends the educational day by providing safe, professional and efficient transportation to eligible students. This includes travel to and from school, educational field trips, special program and other events and competitions.

Transportation of students should not be considered a door-to-door convenience, but a cost effective method of bringing students to their schools and returning them after instructional programs are completed. Students must always board and depart the bus at their assigned stop and be at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time each morning.

Student Transportation is a privilege to be enjoyed by eligible students as long as the student acts responsibly, follows all rules and regulations, and positively responds to the directions and requests of the Bus Drivers and Assistants. Behavioral expectations on a bus are no different than those of the classroom. A good understanding of the rules will help develop a positive relationship with your driver. It will also help assure the safety of your children.

Safety is our #1 priority. We are a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to providing children in Murfreesboro City Schools with the safest, highest quality transportation possible.

Our department strives to provide efficient, economical and customer-based service for every student who is eligible to ride our buses. Please use the links on the website for more specific information. Thank you in advance for your help in providing a safe bus ride for your child.
