New Student Registration

All new students must complete the enrollment process before they may attend school. Please keep in mind that we want new students to experience a smooth transition to our schools, and the enrollment process may take one-to-three days. You may register online by using the link below.

Registration for 2023-2024 School Year

Parents are encouraged to register their students in advance of school beginning on August 7, 2023.

It is best to use a computer for the online enrollment whenever possible instead of a mobile device.

Only a custodial parent or legal guardian may register the child. The custodial parent or legal guardian must show proof of guardianship by presenting a copy of custody papers or court order.

Any student entering the MCS school system for the first time must present the following items to their school:

  1. A birth certificate or officially acceptable evidence of date of birth at the time of registration.
  2. Evidence of a current medical examination. (There shall be a complete medical examination of every student entering school for the first time.)
  3. Current evidence of state-required immunization.
  4. Proof of address of parent or legal guardian upon initial enrollment; however, proof of residence or guardianship may be requested at any time by the school administrator.
  5. Parent/guardian’s state or federal issued identification.
  6. Current proof of custody of the child if parents are divorced, separated or unmarried.
  7. All forms must be submitted prior to the first day of school.

Acceptable proofs of residency:
• Utility bills (gas, electric, water) for the month prior to registration
• Copy of mortgage statement, signed lease agreement (including renewed lease agreements), signed valid non-contingent real estate contract, or signed executed settlement statement with supporting documentation

Special Notice: Tennessee Law prohibits the fraudulent enrollment of students, including providing a false address or fraudulent affidavit. Any parent/guardian who fraudulently enrolls a student shall be liable for restitution to the school district for an amount equal to the per pupil expenditure for the district in which the student is fraudulently enrolled.

If you live outside the city limits of Murfreesboro and want to attend a Murfreesboro City School you will need to contact the Central Office at 615-893-2313 to request and fill out an OUT-OF-CITY application form.
