Communications

Join us as we tell the stories of our children, our teachers and our support staff.  Amazing work is being performed through the efforts of many staff members and volunteers at MCS and we believe in keeping our parents and community informed.

Visit our website frequently for news updates and upcoming event postings. You may also wish to follow MCS on Twitter @MCScommunicates or FaceBook @MurfreesboroCitySchools for the latest information.

MCS Communications also utilizes School Messenger, the MCS parent notification system, for districtwide phone messaging. These messages include special updates, reminders and emergency alerts including school closures or delays due to inclement weather.  (Parents can choose to opt-out of this phone messaging system by calling 615-893-2313)

A district e-newsletter is available to parents and employees.  Simply click on the button below to sign up for the newsletter.  You will also see a link to “Ask MCS” — Ask MCS is a great way to find answers to questions that are on your mind.

Emails are also utilized to send information to parents.  Please be sure your email is correct by logging into Parent Portal and updating the current contact information.

Parents may find the latest news and upcoming events from their schools via Peachjar, an online electronic flyer delivery system. MCS also works with community groups and organizations that sponsor activities of an educational/enrichment nature for students by distributing materials electronically. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we transitioned from paper to electronic flyer delivery.

Contact the Communications Department if you are not able to find the information you are seeking or send us a message at Ask MCS.
