Administering Medication to Students
It is the policy of the Murfreesboro City Schools that all children’s medication be administered by a parent at home. When necessary, school personnel may assist with self-administration under the appropriate administrative regulations. Medications with appropriate instructions must be delivered to the school by a responsible adult. Medications cannot be transported to or from school by students.
In the emergency situations, epinephrine, glucagon injections and/or rectal diazepam gel may be administered by school personnel provided they have received training regarding such medication administration and provided that written permission for administration from a parent or guardian has been obtained.
