PROPOSED CALENDARS
The Murfreesboro City School Board will select a calendar for the 2010‐2011 school year at their March 30 board meeting. The Board has asked for input from all stakeholders who would be affected by next year’s calendar. The following calendars will be considered.

The Traditional Calendar follows the same format as proposed in the past. This calendar includes a one‐week fall break, two‐week winter break, and one‐week spring break. The breaks coincide with the Rutherford County School System’s calendar. (View Traditional Calendar)

The Alternative Calendar follows the same format as proposed in the past. This calendar includes a two‐week fall Break, a three‐week winter break, and two‐week spring break. (The traditional calendar, county calendar, and alternative calendar share one week during the fall and spring breaks and two weeks during the winter break). (View Alternative Calendar)

The Modified Calendar B has been proposed to move the system to one calendar for all schools. The calendar has a one‐week fall break, a full week break at Thanksgiving, a two‐week winter break, and a one‐week spring break. The fall, winter, and spring breaks coincide with the county’s calendar; the difference is that the county’s break at Thanksgiving is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in comparison to MCS that gives students the entire week as a holiday.

The one‐week fall break and one‐week spring break coincide with the county’s breaks; the county’s two‐week winter break coincides with the three‐week break in this modified calendar.
