Thank you for your interest in the Murfreesboro City Schools Preschool Program.

*** Our window for early applications has closed.
However, it is likely that additional spots will become available at some point. Completed applications may be turned in to place your child on the waiting list at the Murfreesboro City Schools Central Office at 2552 S. Church St. during regular business hours.

The MCS Pre-K program is funded by a grant for low income or at risk 4 year old children who are zoned for a city school. Your child must be 4, but not yet 5, years old on August 15th, 2017.  A birth certificate, utility bill as proof of address, and proof of income will be collected along with a completed application.  Please use the application link on the left for additional information and to print the application.

If your child has been accepted for the 2017-2018 school year, you will have received a letter in late June with information on the steps for finalizing registration.

As you are preparing for the school year, we wanted to make you aware of the dress code in our PreK classrooms and within each building.

**All children must wear tennis shoes to school each day.

**It is best if both boys and girls wear shorts or pants to school for ease of activities. If you do send your child in a dress or skirt, please put shorts on underneath.

**At Hobgood Elementary and Mitchell-Neilson Elementary, a school uniform policy is in place.  In those schools, all clothing must be of a solid color with no words, logos, or brand labels visible on the shirts.

Please also pay close attention to the school’s dress code identified in each school’s Parent Handbook which is available online at the school link from the City School’s website.

You may email us at preschool@cityschools.net if you have further questions.
