Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program @ Hobgood
“The School Nutrition Department is excited to team up with the Office of Coordinated School Health to implement the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program at Hobgood Elementary! The School Nutrition Department and Coordinated School Health put their heads together and wrote the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program grant. Hobgood was one of 25 schools in the state of Tennessee to receive money to implement the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program.

We kicked off the program by co-hosting “Nutrition Adventures” at Hobgood. Students enjoyed fresh raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and snow peas for snacks. This new program will allow every student at Hobgood to receive a fresh fruit or vegetable daily during snack time.”
