Murfreesboro City Schools is proud to welcome Mr. Wesley Ballard and Mr. David Settles to the school board. Mr. Ballard and Settles will be sworn in tonight at the beginning of the school board meeting. Additionally, Mr. Butch Campbell and Mr. Jared Barrett will resume their positions on the board.

Mr. Ballard is serving his first term on the School Board. He is a retired executive of Nissan North America, Smyrna Manufacturing. There he held engineering and management positions in quality assurance, product engineering and purchasing. He has served on the board of the United Way, served on the Nissan Corporate Contribution Committee, Nissan Directors Council and Nissan Corporate Management Committee. He is a graduate of MTSU and has lived in Murfreesboro since 1983.

Mr. Settles is serving his first term on the School Board. He pastors the Living Word Worship Center and serves on the Advisory Board of the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Murfreesboro. He also serves as the Chairman of the Legal Redress Committee of the local branch of the NAACP. He is a licensed Pastoral Counselor and the co-founder of the nonprofit agency, Integrity Counseling and Family Solutions. He has lived in Murfreesboro since 2003.
