Once you click Text Box, it will appear in the middle of the page ready to be typed in.  Sometimes it is hard to see so you may need to click your mouse to the side then click back in the middle to find it. 

Just like Powerpoint, when you have the white boxes around the edge of your text box, you can change the size and you can move it around the page.
