The first weeks of school will be a time to come together as a community of learners.  We will develop classroom rules and procedures.  We will prepare our minds for action while we practice right thinking, being self-controlled, not conforming to ignorance,  loving one another and setting our hopes beyond today.

The Fifth Grade Math curriculum will open with a study on Data Analysis.  We will learn who we are ... our likes and dislikes and what a typical Hobgood Fifth Grade “looks like”.  Science will begin with developing an understanding of the Scientific Inquiry process and the study of Life Science.  In Social Studies, we will tackle geography by studying latitude and longitude, identifying our fifty states and major bodies of water.
