Welcome To Mrs. Hunt’s Fourth Grade Class
Welcome To Mrs. Hunt’s Fourth Grade Class
Dear Parents,
Hello, My name is Carolyn Hunt and I'm honored to be teaching at Hobgood Elementary!
This is my third year teaching in the Fourth Grade and I'm loving every minute of it. Fourth graders are exciting, inquisitive, and anxious to learn many new things. This is good because there are many new concepts that are introduced during the Fourth grade academic school year.
I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself. I've been married to Mr. Hunt for almost forty years, and he teaches at Hobgood as well. We have two grown sons and they each have a son of their own...so we are grandparents! It's wonderful! I've been teaching for almost twenty years and while I've taught several different grade levels I'm really enjoying my Fourth grade boys and girls.
Parents one really important concept that Fourth graders need to have perfected is knowledge of their multiplication tables! Without mastery of multiplication and division facts it's very hard for them to progress at an appropriate math rate. So taking some time to review these facts over the summer and during vacation breaks is a helpful strategy to becoming successful in 4th grade math. Reading longer passages and chapter books is also a concept that is highly developed in the Fourth grade. Along with reading we also do many writing projects and usually publish a 'Poetry Book' or an 'A.B.C. book' about 4th grade by the years' end. Science concepts are highly developed with a strong emphasis on Physical Science. In Social Studies we cover from early Native Americans through the Revolutionary War. Finally, technology is integrated throughout every subject area.
As previously stated it's an exciting year filled with knowledge, field trips and fun! In addition, we are happy to have each and every one of you on board each new school year. Get ready to Blast - Off into a new school year!
Sincerely yours, Carolyn Hunt :-)
