It is the goal of Hobgood Elementary School to:
- Involve parents, families, and community in the educational growth of the child by offering a wide variety of parent/child activities that create a comfortable school climate and encourage family engagement through:
- Parent Nights
- Curriculum/Family Literacy Nights
- Book Fair opportunities
- Parent workshops
- School to Home Connection (sent home to parents monthly)
- Rutherford County Parent Magazine (sent home to parents monthly)
- Communicate in a timely and frequent manner through:
- Flexible hours for parent/teacher conferences by appointment
- Letters from building principal
- District/school web site
- Daily agendas
- Home visits
- E-mail
- Parents’ information of rights included in school handbook
- Teacher contact information provided to parents
- A letter from the principal providing notification and explanation of School Wide Title Program
- Open-house
- Classroom newsletters
- Parent/student/teacher compact
- Report cards/progress reports
- Student handbooks
- District outcomes handout (Murfreesboro City Schools FACTS)
- Offer a wide variety of opportunities for parent involvement in decision making for school improvements through:
- Annual parent survey
- Annual Review of Program and Planning Meeting with the Parent Advisory Council
- Joint development of the School Improvement Plan
- PTO
