We are a school that combines a long tradition with leading, creative educational practice.  We realize that an optimum elementary school education is essential preparation for student success in high school and beyond. Recognizing our students’ emotional, social and physical needs, we promote their growth by helping them to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, effective communicators and caring citizens who will be able to contribute effectively in the future global society. We do this by providing a meaningful curriculum, excellence in instruction and continuous communication between parents, teachers, and students. As you browse our web-site or come to visit our campus, you will see that Hobgood is a place to try new things, to feel safe asking a question and to take a risk. That’s what real learning is.  You will find real learning in every classroom, in the library, in the science lab, on the playground, and throughout our beautiful campus.  Think of Hobgood as an art gallery with vibrant, creative, ever-changing shows of children’s work.
My goal is for parents to drop their children off at Hobgood every morning knowing they will be welcomed and appreciated and always treated with respect. We are all on a shared journey of learning, and we have so much to learn from each other.
