Welcome to the Erma Siegel Elementary Cafeteria! Students are served meals in accordance with the guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. Students may choose from a variety of selections. We strive to serve our students a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch each and every day! Most of our food items are steam-cooked. When we do fry an item, we use 100% pure vegetable oil. We limit our weekly menu items to average less than 30% fat content.
Parents are encouraged to write and send checks to Erma Siegel Elementary Cafeteria on the FIRST day of the week. Place the check in a sealed envelope with the childs name, grade and teacher on it. PLEASE send a separate check for each child as the teacher keeps a record of each payment. Parents must also indicate on the money envelope if the money is to be used for breakfast, milk or lunch. All money will be entered into the LUNCH account unless otherwise noted. Charges are not acceptable in the cafeteria. If your child comes to school without lunch money, they may be served an alternate meal, generally a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and milk.
Erma Siegel Elementary participates in the federally funded free and reduced breakfast and lunch program. Applications are available in the school office. Approval is based on income.
Parents, grandparents and siblings are always welcome to come and dine with their students at breakfast or lunch. We must insist, however, that you do not bring food in from outside dining sources when you come to school to dine with your student. No canned soft drinks should be sent to school. Murfreesboro City Schools department of school nutrition strives to make school meals healthy and nutritious each day. Your demonstrated support of the cafeteria program is greatly appreciated.
