Teresa McCarthy was nominated by one of our students for 103 WKDF Teacher of the Month, and she won.  She received $150.00 in gift cards from the station.   

The Discovery School has raised over $900 this school year by collecting BoxTops!  Please keep up this great contribution.

Recent Awards!

Here is our wonderful winner from the Rutherford County Spelling Bee.  Sayoni Ghosh defeated spellers from 25 schools to be crowned the county champion for the 6th grade by spelling the word boudoir.

• Among all schools in Tennessee, The Discovery School at Reeves Rogers had the highest number of students recognized by the Duke University Talent Identification Program during the 2007-08 school year.
  

The students pictured above were winners in the Creative Communications Fall 2008 Poetry contest, and will be subsequently published in their national publication.  In addition, we were again recognized for our outstanding contributions as a school.  The students were:

E. Grimes, M. Jih, P. Keating, M. Kelley, R. Kinney, C. Lawson, L. Lorigan, M. May, K. McCusker, L. McDonald, A. Mohammed, P. Moncivaez, L. Ni, L. Norsby, A. Owens, R. Soetje, E. Soper, R. Srivastava, L. Webb, and J. Yang.

In addition to this, A. Owens was chosen to attend the inauguration as part of a youth inaugural leadership group.
