Why won’t my computer turn on?
There are many reasons why a computer will not turn on. More than likely you will need to consult your tech. However, there are a few things you can attempt before submitting a ticket.
Verity that the computer is getting power.
To ensure the computer is getting power there are three things to verify. First, make sure the power cord is plugged into the computer. Once you have verified the power cord is plugged into the computer, follow the power cord and make sure it is plugged into the wall or a surge protector. If the power cord is plugged into a surge protector make sure the surge protector is plugged into the wall. Lastly, make sure the surge protector is turned on by flipping the switch on the surge protector.
Why won’t my computer connect to the internet?
This is a problem with many possible fixes, most of which will require your technician’s attention. But before submitting a ticket make sure the computer is plugged into the switch. There should be a cable, similar to a phone cable, running from your computer to the gray switch. If the cable is unplugged from either the computer or the switch, plug it back in and try to connect to the internet again. If this doesn’t solve your problem, or if the cable is already plugged in please contact your technician.
I get a message when I try to play dvd’s, what does it mean?
The first time a dvd is loaded into the computer the region code will need to be set. However this is something your technician will have to set up. Submit a ticket via Schoolstation.
