Job Openings at MCS
Thank you for considering employment with the Murfreesboro City School System. You may apply online for any position by clicking on the link below. Information regarding each type of position is provided with each posting.
Copies of transcripts, Praxis scores, resumes, etc. may be scanned as part of your application, but are not required. We will only accept paper documents, if an offer of employment is pending and requested by Human Resources.
All information provided and any related documents requested are public information and are subject to release to the public. The Murfreesboro City School System requires a criminal background check, negative TB test, and physician’s statement of good health on all new employees.
All teachers of any language instruction program for English Language Learners (ELLs) need to be fluent and competent in the four domains of language assessed by the English Language Proficiency Assessment: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
A teacher’s fluency in listening and speaking will be documented and evaluated during the interview process. One person in the interview will be responsible for noting listening mistakes, miscues, grammar, and syntax mistakes, and judging the level of fluency for both speaking and listening.
Reading will be evaluated through the reading and responses that show understanding of the application process. Reading may be satisfied through the college transcript if from an English speaking university or by a successful Praxis score.
Writing fluency will be assessed by means of a writing sample done on site during the interview. The applicant will be asked to provide a 15 minute writing sample. The topic will vary.
