HEALTH COVERAGE

The Murfreesboro City School system provides group health insurance for you.
You are allowed to choose the carrier that best meets your needs: either Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Cigna. You may choose between three different provider organizations: Premier PPO, Standard PPO, or Limited PPO. Each carrier has its own network of health care providers. Providers move in and out of networks from time to time so check the networks carefully for your preferred doctor or hospital when making your selection.  Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee (BCBST) and Cigna both have PPO networks available throughout Tennessee.  BCBSTN: Network S and Network P; and Cigna: Open Access or Local Plus

Call the HR office for individual and family plan pricing.

You will be provided an identification card by your carrier which gives you pertinent information such as your identification number. If you cannot locate your card, please contact the company directly.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a support tool that helps you and your family deal with both workplace and personal issues.

*All services are confidential and available at NO cost to all employees enrolled in the health coverage. Eligible dependents do not have to be enrolled.

*You can easily access services by calling Optum at 1-855-437-3486 these services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

*You and your eligible dependents may use up to five no-cost counseling sessions per problem, per year.

*Your EAP also offers work-life services, financial and legal services, assistance finding eldercare and dependent care services and much more.

USAble Logo

USAble Annual Enrollment is in November of every year. Representatives will come around to every MCS location during open enrollment. You will be required to meet with them regardless of whether or not you are electing coverage. Available policies from USAble are listed below:

Accident Elite is designed to provide supplemental coverage for costs associated with covered accidental injuries or death and allows you the option of tailoring coverage to fit your personal needs.

Cancer Care Elite provides supplemental coverage when certain losses occur as the result of cancer or a covered specified disease and is available to you and your eligible family members.

Critical Care Elite provides a lump sum payment upon first diagnosis of a covered critical illness.

Educator’s Long Term Disability is designed to provide income protection should you become disabled as the result of a covered sickness or injury.

Term Life Insurance is the least expensive form of life insurance coverage you can purchase. It provides life insurance for a stated time period, or term and is guaranteed renewable for subsequent term periods.

Voluntary Group Term Life if you need additional term life protection for you and your eligible family members, think about low-cost Voluntary Group Term Life coverage.

Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment allows you to purchase benefits to provide protection in the event of an unexpected loss of accidental death or dismemberment.

Medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allow you to pay for qualifying medical expenses on a pre-tax basis. Expenses can come from family medical deductibles, co-pays, eye care expenses, prescription drugs and family dental expenses. The below link is the website for your FSA account information.

Dependent Care Account allow dependent care expenses for children under age 13, a disabled spouse or a person of any age who is unable (mentally or physically) to take care of him or himself, and who sends at least eight hours a day in your home, to be deducted from your paycheck. The maximum dollar amount allowable under IRS regulations is $5,000 ($2,500 if married and filing separately) per plan year.

UNIVERSAL LIFE, offers flexible, comprehensive benefits and enables employees to adjust their death benefit, cash value and premiums as their financial needs change.

Universal Life Events matches the needs of insured throughout their lifetime. Universal Life Events pays a higher death benefit during working years when expenses are high.

Accelerated Death Benefit accelerates 75% of death benefit when life expectancy is 24 months or less.

Long Term Care-built in (LTC) death benefit accelerates 4% per month up to 25 months when received assisted living, home healthcare, adult day care or skilled nursing home care.

Death Benefit Restoration-Built In fully restores the death benefit reduced by LTC.


TELEHEALTH

24/7 Care – When you need it

All health plan members have access to Telehealth medical services. It is available as a part of your health insurance. You can talk to a doctor by phone or computer from anywhere, at any time.

When to use Telehealth

For non-emergency medical issues (allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cold & flu, infections, fever, ear aches, nausea, pink eye, sore throat).

· 24 hours a day, seven days a week-including nights, weekends and holidays.

· Your doctor or pediatrician is unavailable.

· It’s not convenient to leave your home or work.

· You are traveling and need medical care.

Cost

· PPO members: Copay is $15.00

· CDHP Members: You pay the negotiated rate per visit until you reach your deductible, then the primary care office visit coinsurance applies.

You must pre-register with your network vendor to use Telehealth.
