Overview:
Bradley Academy is one of the Murfreesboro City Schools.  The school serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade on a year round attendance calendar.  Bradley is a choice school offering an emphasis in the arts and communications.  Students receive instruction from specialists in visual arts, instrumental music, choral music, drama and physical education.  The special area teachers and classroom teachers work together to integrate the arts throughout the curriculum.

The curriculum is progressive.  Teachers and parents have been actively researching innovative practices and the expansion of the role of technology in instruction.  Each classroom is equipped with five student computers, and a work station with a teacher computer, a large screen television, and a DVD player.  Technology and the arts program are both used to enhance the curriculum.
The school has a supportive parent organization.  This group is active in assisting each classroom with volunteers and supplying the school with instructional equipment and materials which enrich the curriculum through fund raising.  Members of the PTO Executive Board also serve on the school improvement committee.

In summary, Bradley is a great school, it has a professional, dedicated faculty; supportive, interested parents; and hard working, well behaved students.  Together we provide for the success of all students.

History of Bradley Academy:
Bradley Academy is a Kindergarten through sixth grade, arts integrated school located in the inner-city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The building is one of the oldest school buildings in the city. The first section of the existing structure was built in 1955, followed by an addition in 1959. Bradley is a school of choice, which also serves a small walking zone. County students and city students may choose to attend Bradley rather than their zoned schools.  The English Language Learners (ELL) Program that is available here attracts students from all across the city.  The implementation of the arts and communications emphasis began with the opening of the newest addition in 2000.  Instruction in choral music, art, drama, instrumental music, physical education and dance is provided as part of our regular education program.
